Holiday breaks are hard for us at the sensory house. The break in routine. The change. We keep things really scheduled at home during breaks and plan a lot of activities in an attempt to avoid all chaos erupting.
I thought I’d share with you my list of activities that we will be doing next week during Thanksgiving break.
GROSS MOTOR GAMES
Turkey Feather Hunt – I love how easy this is and great for all ages. Something to get your kiddos up and moving around.
Turkey Tag – If you have room to run and the weather is nice where you are would be great with a larger group!
Don’t Topple the Teepee – Something I think Mom’s and Dad’s will even have fun with!
Thanksgiving Pattern Cut and Paste – Perfect for Pre-K, K, 1 and working on fine motor skills.
Turkey Family Art – Miss Sensory isn’t a fan of things on her hands especially paint. So every once and while we do activities like this and approach it sensitively.
Pilgrim Journey (Free Mini-book) – Miss Sensory has been making books like this at school and I thought it would be fun to make one at home.
Build a Turkey – (Print the free preview). Great for working on matching shapes!
Thanksgiving Jokes- Because, my 5 year old is super into telling jokes. 99% of the time they don’t make any sense.
Color By Sight Word Turkey – Miss Sensory is just getting introduced to sight words.
Turkey in the Bag- This looks like a lot of fun and I’m thinking Miss Sensory may enjoy this even though it says Preschooler, I’m thinking it would work for Kindergarteners too!
Wishing you a peaceful and meltdown free Thanksgiving Break!
